A/C TECHNICIAN 

Business Unit: Department: Service & Maintenance Location: Any Reports to: Service & Operation In-Charge

Job Objectives:

An AC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air-conditioning units among other materials such as electrical circuits, refrigerant pressure, voltmeters, thermometers, pressure gauges and manometers to test airflow. The technician must look at the blueprints for the AC to determine how the unit should function and/or whether it needs repairing or a replacement. Responsibilities and duties:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning equipments.

• Ventilate equipment and controls making sure they operate efficiently and continuously.

• Perform regular maintenance work on cooling units.

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.

• Install, replace, or repair equipment that has been damaged.

• Make adjustment and do calibrations of thermostatic controls.

• Inspect and maintain refrigerators and ice machines, and chilled water supply systems

• Clean blowers and coils, check tensions of belts and motors.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate Supervisor/Manager. Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/Certificate as an A/C Technician

Years of Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years Person Requirements:

• Should be able to work in places where they are exposed to dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials and high voltage equipment

• Capable of working in confined and hot spaces like roofs, crawl ways and attics

• Able to work in adverse weather and may be required to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel or stand for long stretches of time Communication and Interaction:
