Objective
Provide cost & planning services in support of engineering, construction, commissioning & start-up (CSU) and maintenance activities. Develop, in conjunction with project engineers, design engineers, construction & maintenance engineers, activity plans for projects, construction services, and CSU activities.
Job Dimension
Key Accountabilities
- Build overall plans and schedules for conceptual, front-end designs and for the execution phase of projects, provides plans and schedules for ad-hoc construction service requests, integrated maintenance plans.
- Responsible for work activity progress reporting and regular update of plans and schedules.
- Work in close co-operation with the Company’s project team & Planning department, for engineering, construction, and CSU planning, inclusive reporting, Primavera P6 entry, SAP daily service entry, and PromisX entry.
- Resource optimisation / prioritisation in conjunction with Project Engineers / Construction / Maintenance Co-ordinators(s).
- Early warning of plan delays and proposals for mitigation to Project Engineers / Construction / Maintenance Co-ordinators for resolution.
- Prepare Weekly Look Ahead Schedule, Bar Charts, Manpower and Equipment Development Chart as envisage in the Contract.
- Prepare weekly / monthly progress reports as per the contract requirement and submit the same for review.
- Monitor the Progress of work against the planned schedules / base line schedule in coordination with the Site manager.
- Analyze deviation, change of scope or delay, incorporate changes & if required reschedule to meet the target dates.
- Plan and arrange required manpower & resources in co-ordination with Site Representative.
- Check the availability of all materials / Consumables including the Company supplied material for the Contract in coordination with Procurement personnel for smooth run of project.
- Actively participate in the process of Omanisation initiatives and activities.
- HSE Accountabilities: Responsible for own safety & the safety of work force working under the supervision.
- Ensure proper compliance on HSE requirements at work place.
- Competencies/ Skills
- Proficiency in the use of PCs, data management and planning software for oil & gas projects.
- Proficiency in project control, planning and reporting software.
- ability and experience to build logic precedence networks, challenge the logic proposed by other disciplines in order to optimise project and maintenance planning.
- Ability to build resource activity plans, including ongoing update, change control, progress reporting, etc.
- Communication & Inter-personal skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
Job Context & Challenge:
- Ability and experience to build logic precedence networks, challenge the logic proposed by other disciplines in order to optimise project and maintenance planning. Meeting strict targets in accordance with HSE & Quality requirements
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely reporting on the progress & status of the plan/ schedule
- Periodic updation of progress by using planning software tools
- Providing needed inputs for effective control measures
- Better coordination with inter-disciplinary teams of the project
- Early warning on delay/ non availability/ deviation
- Realistic & productive plan/ schedule
Qualification & Experience
- HND or Bachelor of Engineering from an approved University.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with project control and planning, primavera p3e and sap on oil and gas engineering, construction, CSU and maintenance activities.
- Experience with Primavera p3e planning is a must.
- Oman experience & involved in PDO Projects are desirable.
