Tooling Polisher-Pipes

The Tooling Polisher will be responsible for maintaining the surface quality of molds used in production by cleaning, polishing, and repairing them as needed. This role is crucial in ensuring that the molds produce high-quality parts and meet the company’s production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mold Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of molds to remove any residue, contaminants, or buildup from the molding process. Ensure molds are free of debris and ready for polishing or maintenance.

• Polishing: Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to polish mold surfaces to a high standard of finish. Ensure that the polished surfaces meet the required specifications and are free from scratches, pits, or other defects.

• Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of molds before and after polishing to identify any defects, wear, or damage. Document findings and report any issues that require further attention or repair.

• Repair & Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on molds, such as filling in small defects or restoring surface finishes. Coordinate with the tooling team for more extensive repairs when necessary.

Tool Management: Maintain and care for all polishing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order. Keep an inventory of polishing supplies and request replenishment as needed.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning and polishing tasks. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure the work area is clean and safe.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all cleaning and polishing activities, including the condition of molds, work performed, and any issues encountered. Ensure records are up-to date and easily accessible.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the mold cleaning and polishing process. Work with the tooling team to implement best practices and enhance the overall quality of the molds.

Qualifications: • Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in mold cleaning and polishing, preferably in a manufacturing or tooling environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and polishing equipment. Knowledge of different polishing techniques and materials used in mold maintenance.

• Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail, with the ability to achieve a flawless finish on mold surfaces.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working with fine tools.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address surface defects or issues with molds. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve polishing challenges.

• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate with the tooling team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical training or certification in mold maintenance or tooling.

• Experience working with a variety of mold materials, including steel and aluminum. • Familiarity with injection molding or other plastic manufacturing processes.
