ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the network and communication infrastructure of the organization. This role involves the design, deployment, monitoring, and support of both wired and wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and communication across all sites. The administrator will work closely with IT teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable network solutions that support business operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Design & Deployment:
• Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Evaluate network performance and recommend upgrades or changes to meet organizational needs.
• Install and configure network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Network Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Perform regular network maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
• Manage and respond to network outages and emergencies, providing timely resolution.
Communication Systems Management:
• Oversee the organization's communication systems, including VoIP, email servers, and messaging platforms.
• Ensure reliable communication channels across all departments and project sites.
• Support the integration of communication systems with the network infrastructure.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
• Generate regular reports on network performance, security status, and project progress.
• Provide technical documentation and training to IT staff and end-users.
Project Management:
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver network solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Participate in the planning and execution of network-related projects, including site installations and upgrades. • Ensure that network deployments align with organizational goals and standards.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
• Liaise with external vendors for the procurement of network hardware, software, and services.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to understand network requirements and provide appropriate solutions. Manage contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with network service providers MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
• 7 to 10 years of experience in network and system administration with exposure to IT mobilization and architectural knowledge.
Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of network design, LAN/WAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with server management and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
• Proficient in performance monitoring tools and system optimization.
• Understanding of IT architectural principles and their application in project settings.
Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Team collaboration and project management capabilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Outside movement and site visits is mandatory for this role
CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred):
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• PMP Certification
• Network Certification any
• System Administrator Certificate any
