Warehouse Supervisor ( Auto)
Oman | 3 - 5 yearsThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, managing inventory, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to meet operational goals. Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision & Leadership: o Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, ensuring that daily operations are completed on time and in a safe and efficient manner.
Provide guidance, training, and support to warehouse employees, ensuring that they meet performance and safety standards.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff on performance, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
Inventory Management:
o Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring the accurate tracking of stock levels, order fulfillment, and replenishment of warehouse supplies.
o Ensure that inventory is properly stored, organized, and labeled for easy access.
o Monitor inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce errors and losses.
Warehouse Operations:
o Ensure the efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring that shipments are processed promptly and accurately.
o Organize and prioritize the daily workflow within the warehouse, assigning tasks to staff based on workload and urgency.
o Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits to ensure accurate stock levels.
Oversee the safe and proper use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
o Manage order picking and packing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Safety & Compliance:
o Enforce safety protocols and best practices within the warehouse, ensuring all employees are trained in and adhere to safety standards.
o Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse, ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order and that the warehouse environment is clean, organized, and safe.
o Address any safety concerns or issues promptly, taking corrective action when necessary.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., OSHA, environmental, and health standards).
Quality Control & Process Improvement:
o Monitor the quality of goods received and shipped from the warehouse, ensuring that products meet required standards. o Implement and enforce processes for handling returns, damaged goods, and quality checks to minimize errors and losses.
o Continuously assess warehouse processes and identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency, cost savings, and productivity.
Shipping & Receiving Coordination:
o Oversee the scheduling and coordination of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that deliveries and pickups are completed on time.
o Work closely with the logistics and transportation teams to ensure that shipping and receiving processes are streamlined and efficient.
o Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all inbound and outbound goods, including packing slips, bills of lading, and invoices.
Reporting & Communication:
o Provide regular reports to management on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order fulfillment, and operational issues.
o Communicate effectively with other departments (sales, procurement, production) to ensure smooth coordination and address any operational challenges.
o Assist in the preparation of warehouse-related budgets, including inventory management, staffing, and equipment needs.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
Skills:
o Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
o Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
o Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
o Proficient in warehouse management software (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Certifications: Forklift certification or other relevant certifications (e.g., safety training) are preferred but not required.
Work Environment
The position is based in a warehouse or distribution center environment, which may include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in varying temperatures. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required depending on operational needs.
